When you want to make money online and you start a home business, it's crucial that you understand how the internet 'works'. If you want your work at home biz to be the best online, you need to know 'the lay of the land'. That includes knowing who and what the major online players and services are. 

Google is one of the biggest players on the Internet. So it's vital that you gain a good, basic, understanding of how Google works. They are just too big to be in the dark about.

In this post, we'll continue looking at the 3 'Google Biggies'. In particular, we'll briefly cover Google's AdSense program, and Google's Adwords program…

  

Google's AdSense Program …

As you know by now, there are many ways to make money online. And hosting Pay Per Click (PPC) ads on your site, is one of the easiest ways of making money once you're receiving traffic to your web site.

AdSense is the biggest and most popular Pay Per Click program in the world. Rarely will a custom-made solution be dropped into your lap (let alone from the Internet's smartest company), just begging you to capitalize.

But!

Please be aware of the distinction…

AdSense (and other PPC programs) is what you use to make money. But AdSense will **not** send you traffic.

You have to do that on your own.

Google's AdWords Program

Whereas free traffic from Search Engines is certainly fantastic once you're getting it, it does take time and hard work, to build up.

Getting traffic from Search Engines can take months. So what about those businesses and web masters who want visitors right now?

Enter Google's AdWords program…

Adwords is where businesses can go to advertize their products, services, and anything else they care to promote.  The benefit of AdWords is that it brings you targeted traffic immediately. You can set up an advertizing campaign via Adwords and be receiving traffic within minutes.

The downside is that you have to pay for this traffic. And this can cost you a fortune, if you're not careful.

 

If You're A New Home Business Person
With A Limited Budget…

If you're new to AdWords I do not recommend you try advertizing on there until you've brushed up on your PPC techniques (make sure you know exactly what you're doing if you're on a tight budget).

And what if you have a limited overall budget for your home business, and can't afford to lose any money?

Well if  you have the time, then  following the C-T-P-M process to get free traffic is your best bet. It might take longer, but when you start getting free traffic, day in, day out, it suddenly becomes all worthwhile.

By the way - if you were to start up an advertizing campaign via Google's Adwords program - where do you think your adverts would be shown?

That's right! On sites that are part of the AdSense program, and on the top and right hand side of Google's Search Engine Results Pages.

 

Learn The 'Lay Of The Land'…

We all know that, as a general rule, the more targeted visitors you get, the more home business income you can potentially make. Attracting a huge, steady stream of visitors is definitely the aim of the game. Google can send significant amounts of visitors to your online work at home biz, so it's best to familiarize yourself with its different online components.

If you want to make money online and start a home business, then understanding Google's 'Big 3' is vital:

When it comes to Google, its Search Engine can send you free traffic. Its AdSense program can earn you money. And its AdWords program can send you immediate, targeted traffic, if you're willing to pay for it. They each have their place in Google's empire, and it's important not to confuse their roles. Use them to your best advantage, and you can build yourself a very successful home business empire indeed.
