How much money can you make online, with a work at home biz?

This is pretty much everybody’s burning question when they’re first thinking of starting a home business: If you work from home on the Internet, what kind of income can you expect? Is there really money to be made, online? And can you do it with a ‘work -at- home’ biz?

I mean, come on… how much money can you make… really?

So let me be straight with you here:

I, the Home Business Geek, believe that the key here is to be realistic. How much money you might eventually make will depend on lots of factors. The niche you choose, the time you put in, the strategy you choose and how well you implement it… the list of factors goes on and on.

Put it this way:

Even when someone spends weeks devising a business plan and a cash flow forecast... sure, they may get a good indication, but they can't really say for sure just **what** they'll make in the long run. So asking 'How much money can I make?', without even having done a business plan or forecast, is even more difficult to predict. Unforeseen events, costs, problems - lots of things can happen that can affect your money-making project for the best or for the worst.

So before we go any further I'm going to tell you something you probably don't want to hear. (Sorry)

You may just earn a couple of cents, or a couple of dollars per week.

On the other hand you could earn a great second income, or maybe even earn enough to retire.

It really does depend on many factors, including you, what strategy you follow, and how much effort you put in.

Not very rosy, I know. But I don't want to be accused of 'romancing' you into thinking you'll be a millionaire by this time next year. Yes, it's possible to make **GOOD** money on the internet. But it's also possible to make zilch. You could even make a loss. As I said before…

It really does depend on many factors, including you, what strategy you follow, and how much effort you put in. It will depend on common sense and perserverance. Not the latest Get Rich Quick scheme.

So this is what I would like you to be crystal clear about:

What I'm recommending in this series of articles is not some fly by night, get rich quick non-sense. It's about working 'smart', yes, but it's also about good, old-fashioned, hard graft. It requires perseverance. It requires common sense. It's basically about starting up your own online home business so you can work from home. It's not about buying the latest gadget and sitting back and hoping it'll bring in millions.

Sorry guys - that's the long and short of it. It does take work. Full stop.

So the answer to your question. Yes, when it comes to home business, you can work at home and earn a very decent income.  There is money to be made online.  And lots of it.

But!

A successful work at home biz doesn’t happen without planning and hard work. If it’s not you doing the grafting, then you’ll be hiring someone who does it for you. Either way, choosing a tried-and-tested online strategy and planning ahead, is the best road-map to ensure your home business makes you a great, ongoing, income.
